Floodplain Invertebrates

The Floodplains have a amazing number of invertebrate species.  We do not even know what species there are let alone what role they play. Clearly invertebrates play a really important role in our ecosystems but we do not understand much of this.  Species like the dragonfly's have their lifcycle tied to the wetlands where their development stages are aquatic before the colourful adults emerge to feed and breed.
